This launch has been in the works for about a year. It took longer than planned because my cancer came back, forcing me to part with my hip followed by radiation and intense, and still ongoing, physical rehabilitation. That’s life with a terminal diagnosis!
All that aside, I’m excited to announce that Mommy Has Cancer is launching its first animated comic strip. The first one is called “Because you are bald…” and it launches March 22, 2023 at 7:00 pm MT through Wellspring Alberta’s Digital Storytelling Online Film Festival. This particular story focuses on how the mom’s (Val) terminal illness resulted in her daughter (Isabelle) getting bullied at school. Find out how they overcame the issue and the impact it had on their family, including Simon, the younger brother.
